WORKING
AT THE DALMENY
At
the Dalmeny Hotel we have, at present, 180 employees,
including 120 who are permanent members of staff.
We are proud of how many of our previous employees
have moved onto high ranking hotel and restaurant
positions in London and abroad, after achieving their
basic grounding in our excellent standards of training
at the Dalmeny.
We
also have many employees who have been here for 10,
20, 30 years and more, some of whom started out as
trainees and are now in senior management position.
We
have excellent facilities for both on and off the
job training and lots of departments in which to
gain valuable experience. All new recruits receive
a warm, friendly welcome for their team and support
from the heads of departments.
Linking
with local training agencies, we can provide NVQ
training at all levels and more specific nationally
recognised qualifications for the individual.
BENEFITS: Dalmeny
employees receive the following benefits:
STAFF
MEALS: We have a staff canteen, where hot meals and
sandwiches are available, free of charge all day
for staff on duty. Meal breaks are incorporated into
the daily rotas.
UNIFORMS:
Employees are provided with a uniform appropriate
to the department they are working in.
LEISURE
FACILITIES: All employees are allowed to use the
swimming pool free of charge at "off-peak" times
and the fitness gym for a nominal fee. Other facilities
are also periodically available.
HAIRDESSING:
Sol's hair salon, situated at the rear of the hotel
will give Dalmeny employees 25% discount on all cuts
and treatments.
RESTAURANTS:
All new starters are entitled to a free meal for
two, plus a bottle of house wine, in the hotel restaurant
of their choice. Staff employed at the hotel for
6 months or more are entitled to 50% discount on food,
for themselves and one guest - in any restaurant.
ACCOMMODATION:
We don't have a live-in facility at the hotel, we
can however, assist you in finding accommodation
in the local area, as there are many flats and/or
bed-sits a mere stone's throw away from the hotel.
PENSION
SCHEME: The hotel operates a Group Personal Pension
Scheme, available to staff who have two years continuous
employment.
HOLIDAYS:
Permanent employees are entitled to 4 weeks holidays
per year - pro rata and 8 days in lieu of Public
Bank Holidays. The hotel closes for Christmas Eve,
Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
